Here you will find some useful information about the smallest Italian region with the highest peaks in Europe, and some pieces of advice to fully enjoy your stay.
The forests and valleys in the Gran Paradiso National Park, Mont Blanc, Mount Cervino and Monte Rosa peaks are part of the invaluable natural heritage. At the border with the French and Swiss Alps, surrounded by the most prestigious “4,000” metres of the Alps, Mont Blanc, Monte Rosa, Mount Cervino, Gran Paradiso, Aosta Valley is a true paradise for skiing and winter sports. However, it is not only first-class ski that turns a white week in Aosta Valley into an unforgettable experience. This also results from the warm welcome devoted to guests everywhere, the calmed atmosphere of small mountain villages where local culture and traditions are still alive, exciting sights and a rich Gastronomy.  Summer sports will give you the oportunity to spend your holidays surounded by nature admiring splendid landscapes from different angles.

Aosta is the capital of the autonomous region of Valle d’Aosta (Aosta Valley) and it is placed in a wonderful Alpine basin crowned by impressive mountains such as Monte Emilius (3559 metres), Becca di Viou (2856 metres) and Becca di Nona (3142 metres). A corner of the antique Rome in the Alps, an important example of Roman architecture in Northern Italy. The origins of this city date back to the Augusta Praetoria age, the Roman colony that has left many works as heritage. Aosta also has important medieval ruins, churches, castles and residences of landlords who, for centuries, contended for the control of the valley. The town can be the starting point for those adventurous visitors who desire to reach high peaks or for those who, in a short time, want to reach Switzerland and France borders. Actually, Mont Blanc and Great St. Bernard tunnels turn the city into a very important strategic joint from ancient times. The mountain is really on your doorstep thanks to a cableway that takes you from Aosta centre to Pila  It offers a skiing circuit for all levels. Moreover, here you can spend a day enjoying the most distracting sporting activities, either in summer or winter! For your brief or long stays, you will be able to choose only what you really desire to do since there are plenty of possibilities, for all tastes and all seasons! Paths for trekking and gastronomic routes, visits to the beautiful parks, natural reserves and wonderful castles in the Valley! Within the world of arts and crafts, you can visit very beautiful works in museums or just walk along the main street of the city. Historical and artistic heritage, new and old traditions are mixed in an environment that offers relaxing wellness!
